Karl Marx & Sigmund Freud
To afdøde, hvide mænd med skæg! Og hvad så?
Jo, Marx interesserede sig for (bl.a.) varer og kapital, mens det for Freud var (bl.a.) drømme. De to mænd havde dog noget tilfælles. Begge tog udgangspunkt i at forstå indhold. Freud analyserede vore drømme, mens Marx undersøgte varens art - men begge gjorde det ud fra et HVAD-perspektiv. De ledte ikke efter en skjult mening, og spurgte ikke HVORFOR.
Zizek discusses the unconscious as popularised by Sigmund Freud and
provides several examples from pop culture to illustrate why our common
understanding of the unconscious mind is wrong. Contrary to popular
belief, Zizek argues that the unconscious is not a substantial, material
object akin to its popular representation as the larger, submerged part
of an iceberg, but much rather a virtual, immaterial phenomenon that
exerts influence without really being there.
A man comes into a cafe and says "I would like to have coffee without cream" but the waiter says "Sorry sir, we don't have cream, but tou can have coffee without milk".
